We made Aliyah half a year ago to Rechovot. It is great that we made Aliyah a year before the Bagruyot start. Bagruyot (plural. Singular:Bagrut) are almost like a mix between a final exam and an American SAT test or like the Regents in New York. Each year starting from 10th grade, all students must take a Bagrut for each subject they learned in that year, in order to receive a Teudat Bagruyot(Diploma) at the end of 12th grade. Having a year to acclimate before the first year of Bagruyot is certainly helpful.
